About Wihlm Dental

Our History

Wihlm Dental was established in March 2008 when Dr. Michelle Wihlm purchased the existing practice of Dr. Roger Jacobsen. Dr. Jacobsen had been in practice for over 35 years. Dr. Wihlm discovered her career and her passion for dental care when she assisted for Dr. Jacobsen in the summer of 2000. After completing her undergraduate degree and dental school, Dr. Wihlm became an associate with Dr. Jacobsen in 2007 before purchasing the practice in 2008. 

Wihlm Dental is a practice devoted to providing a lifetime of optimal oral healthcare to our patients. Our goal is always to preserve natural tooth structure and to aid our patients in achieving a healthy and esthetic smile. We educate our patients so they are able to make informed decisions about their treatment. We strive to build positive relationships with our patients based on trust, excellent service and personalized dental care. The care of all our patients is important to us and is provided with a sense of caring, empathy, comfort and kindness.

Our Distinguished Staff

Michelle A. Wihlm, DDS

Dr. Michelle Wihlm was born in Oshkosh and graduated from Lourdes High School in 1999. She continued her education at Winona State University earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2007. She immediately joined the dental practice of Dr. Roger Jacobsen and purchased his practice in March 2008 establishing “Wihlm Dental.”

Dr. Wihlm married her husband Tony in 2004. Tony is employed by EAA in Oshkosh as the Controller of Finance. They welcomed their daughters Kayla in 2009 and Avianna in 2011, and have a dog, Kennedy. Dr. Wihlm enjoys running, baking, reading and spending time with her family. She is excited to be in her hometown to practice dentistry. Something you may not know about Dr. Wihlm, is back in 2009 Dr. Wihlm and her siblings set a Guinness World Record when they became the “most siblings (16) to complete the same marathon”. As of 2016, they still hold the record.

Professionally, Dr. Wihlm keeps current as an active member of the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, Winnebago County Dental Society, serving as President 2014/15, and the Winnebagoland Seattle Study Club. She is also active in Oshkosh Mid-Morning Kiwanis, a member of TEMPO Fox Valley and a Board of Trustees member for Lourdes Academy.



The first smiling face to greet you at Wihlm Dental is Patti’s. She keeps the office running smoothly with her reception, clerical, and billing duties. Patti enjoys interacting with each and every patient who walks through the door, and is especially good at making them feel comfortable when they arrive for their appointment.

Prior to working with Dr. Wihlm, Patti worked for Dr. Jacobsen starting in 1973. She has over forty years of experience in the dental field.

Patti and her husband George were both born and raised in Oshkosh. They have two adult daughters. Sarah and her husband Brett live in Chicago while Amy and her husband Jason live here in Oshkosh. Patti and George also have two grandchildren, she loves Fridays off because it gives her the opportunity to care for and spend time with them.

Patti and George love to travel. They have been fortunate to have traveled to Europe several times. Together they also like to bike and have done many of the Wisconsin bike trails, along with some of the Minnesota trails. Patti also loves to read and calls shopping a hobby.



As a hygienist Cassie says she spends almost as much time with patients as Dr. Wihlm and particularly enjoys educating her patients on oral hygiene and care as well as helping them set goals to improve their oral health. She joined our practice in early 2010.

From neighboring city, Kimberly, Cassie graduated from Fox Valley Technical College in 2009, and is also certified to administer local anesthetic for dental procedures. Cassie believes everyone should have access to quality dental care.

She and her husband Matt, have two daughters, Taylor and Kailey. In her free time Cassie enjoys spending time camping and snowmobiling with family and friends. She might be the only member of our team who really enjoys winter!

Hailey O.


Working one on one with her patients is what Hailey considers the best part of her job. Her positive and upbeat attitude is very appealing to her patients as well as her teammates. Perhaps she learned that from growing up in a family of five.

Her dental career started 9 years ago as a dental assistant and she continued on to achieve her dental hygiene degree. She joined Wihlm Dental in 2007 and enjoys sharing tips about oral health with patients. She strives to see her patient’s oral hygiene improve. Even when patient’s oral hygiene is struggling, she likes to educate, motivate and encourage each person based on their needs.

Hailey is married to her husband Beau, who is a financial representative in Appleton. Her and Beau have to two children together.


Dental Assistant

Nikki has been a team member of Wihlm Dental for 3 years now, she assists with Dr. Wihlm and also helps upfront with reception duties. Being able to interact and help patients on a daily basis is a rewarding experience to her. She was born and raised here in Oshkosh, graduated from Lourdes High School in 2006. Her family has owned a local bowling alley for many years now. Not only does she know many of the patients due to bowling, she also has a relatively large extended family. Her mother comes from a family of 14 children.

Spending time with family and friends is what Nikki enjoys the most. During her free time she also really enjoys scrapbooking and being able to do outdoor activities, especially when its warm. Her and her Husband Carly (Pacur Employee) welcomed their first son, Jackson, in April 2016. Nikki loves being a mom to both Jackson and her step-daughter Rory.


Dental Assistant

Erin graduated from the Fox Valley Technical College Dental Assisting program in December 2015, and joined Wihlm Dental right out of school. Being able to interact with the patients on a daily basis is what she enjoys most about being a dental assistant.

Erin has a very outgoing personality, she was born and raised here in Oshkosh, but went to High School in Fond du Lac at WLA where she met her husband Jared, who is an electrician.

During her free time Erin loves spending time with friends and family. Erin and Jared love to hike, kayak, and camp, they have a goal of visiting all the Wisconsin State Parks and State Forests.

Hailey H.

Hygienist and Dental Assistant

Hailey is the newest employee at Wihlm Dental, she enjoys educating her patients on their oral health while also spending time with them and creating a comfortable experience. She has grown up in the dental office watching her mom assist and eventually go on to hygiene. This has influenced her to become a hygienist and help care for people.

Hailey grew up in Oshkosh and graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 2009. She then attended Fox Valley Technical College and graduated with degrees in both dental assisting and dental hygiene. Hailey is also certified in administering local anesthetic and nitrous oxide for dental procedures. In her free time, Hailey enjoys spending time with her husband Justin, family, friends, and their puppies Ella and Sammy.
